"The hotel and rooms are exquisite and it really felt like a home from home. "

The Old Bakehouse

Our two bedroom single story traditional stone cottage is set behind the kitchen garden with its own private enclosed garden planted with fragrant lavender, bluebells and lily of the valley. The Old Bakehouse is so-called because at one time it was the bakery for the miners’ pasties at the nearby Piran St George copper mine.

Now entirely refurbished, the cottage has a new modern bathroom, open plan kitchen dining room and lounge and two double bedrooms. The master bedroom has our signature super-king sized bed which may be divided on request into twin singles and more than enough room for a third single sized bed on request. The second bedroom is smaller with a full sized double bed and has with its own private access to the outside rear Hidden Garden dining space. A perfect room where parents may like to benefit from the restaurant and bar service whilst keeping one ear on slumbering children in the master bedroom. We thought of everything.

Room For All The Family

The Old Bakehouse is booked on a self-catered basis with the bookable option to upgrade to Bed and Breakfast at a preferential rate. It comes with all luxury bed linens and towels included. We do ask that guests try and remember to bring their own beach towels and only use the white hotel towels for use in the cottage but we understand this is often forgotten in the excitement of a holiday and we always have beach towels available if required. We also have a collapsible beach wagon for guests to borrow if needed and we will provide superb beach picnics in cool bags on request also. There is a collection of body boards, beach games, windbreaks and buckets and spades which guests are also encouraged to use and replace rather than increase the sales of single use beach plastics, which are causing untold harm to our oceans and planet in general.

Your Facilities

Your fridge can be stocked in advance and kept topped up with your favourite drinks and snacks on request.

last call for poldark tours

After eight years sitting at the zenith of Poldark related tourism, we have decided 2023 will be Karen’s final year of touring guests around Cornwall’s outstanding landscapes, tourist attractions and show stopping filming locations.

This also means that any and all visits to Nampara (pictured) will cease after 2023, as it is a location Karen has exclusive access to. So if seeing Nampara and experiencing Karen’s expertise and charm first hand is on your Poldark bucket list, this will likely be the final opportunity to do so.

Places are limited for next year, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch, it would b wonderful to see you all –
