Bringing Something Different To The Table...

The Bar at Bolenna has massively grown in reputation for quality dining in Cornwall since taking on Head Chef Dan Wilde to join Pete and Holly in the kitchen. We took the opportunities of lockdown to expand what we offer.

Off-site eating as well as on-site, weekly hot meals for collection or delivery, remained open for hot drinks and refreshments when others closed. We showed ourselves as resilient and a force to be reckoned with.

A Growing Reputation

We aim to have the best food and the best surroundings.

Our menu is seasonal, fresh and local, with much of the produce grown in our own beds outside the kitchen window. Our chefs can actually see their ingredients growing as they start to cook. From plant to plate in less the time it takes to bring chilled water to your table.

We offer fresh, seasonal, local unpretentious food, accompanied by great wines, a great selection of gins and spirits, cocktails and unusual beers from Cornwall and around the world.

We now have an online capacity and contactless ordering, table reservation and even remote payments should you want to have the full The Bar at Bolenna brought to you.

Dining Inside Or Out

The best chefs, best front of house staff, best breakfasts, lunches, dinners and events. The Bar at Bolenna offers intimate relaxed dining indoors and also has three separate dining gardens.

Our Dining Gardens

The Meadow Garden overlooks the splendid Bolenna park and Perran Tennis Courts with its beautiful Edwardian Club House built in 1914. The Meadow Garden enjoys day long sunshine and is the perfect place for afternoon tea amidst the wildflowers.
The Kitchen Garden offers somewhere to grab a quick drink, light bite or coffee and homemade cake from our outdoor kitchen. This space can be readied for events and private parties and is suitable for a marquee and dance floor.

Our Hidden Garden is a coastal planted space lit for evening dining, with sail shades for all weathers, and has become everyone’s favourite languid outdoor dining and drinking garden. With its south westerly aspect it gets the last of the evening sunshine for those wanting to chill the evening away.

Dan Wilde

Head Chef

Dan joined in late summer of 2020. After bringing daughter Ivy to eat and drink with us on a regular basis following exhausting play sessions in the park!

Dan has a wealth of experience and a love of fresh local produce and long-standing relationships with many local suppliers so it wasn’t long before we all started chatting about flavours and quality and seasonality. We swapped recipes and tasting sessions and before we knew it Dan had donned his apron to expand our menu with fantastic new taste experiences. Dan is famous for his love of cheese, seafood, and his rather eclectic taste in music and footwear.

Richie Winn

Food and Beverage Manager

With Richie-Red-Beard as his pirate alter ego, it’s easy to see why we hunted down this local Front Of House legend.
Richie completes the Three Beard Trio that keep The Bar at Bolenna running smoothly.

It was a no-brainer to put Richie and Dan back together as a team as they have a long history as friends and colleagues and often finish each other’s sentences.

Richie loves live music, weird and wonderful beers and piracy on the high seas of course, (or at least a day out fishing with Dan).
