Renaissance offers a broad and balanced curriculum which is based on the National Curriculum for England as well as the IB scope and sequences across Early Years to Year 9. For Years 10 and 11, the programme culminates in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) whilst in Years 12 and 13 the school offers the highly regarded International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP).
In addition to being a fully-accredited IB Diploma provider (DP), Renaissance is also a candidate school for both the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP), having already had our initial applications approved in June 2022. Our school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy – a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education – that we believe is important for our students.
As a medium sized international school, our curriculum has a strong focus on academic excellence but we provide an extraordinary level of care for each student and a warm, close-knit school community. Student learning is also supported by an expansive range of extra-curricular activities across all developmental areas.
Placement at Renaissance is age based and uses the age of the applicant on 31 August of each academic year to determine a student’s natural chronological placement. We will interview the child and look at the previous two year school reports to fully assess each child.
Cambridge IGCSE is the world’s most popular international qualification for 14 to 16 year olds. Some USA community colleges with Foundation Programmes (1-year pre-university courses) accept IGCSE, as do some private universities. However, we would urge you to discuss this with us if you are considering this option.
Yes, our curriculum places our students in an excellent position to go to a university of their choice directly from Renaissance and our students have gained access into high quality colleges and universities around the world. We have a dedicated University Counsellor who support students with the application process and provides help and advice for any of our Secondary students and parents, as they look to find a university that suits them best.
Yes. As an accredited international school, all schools overseas recognise our school reports and students’ results. We pride ourselves on the support we offer our students to ensure a smooth transition when they move to another country. The Head of School can sign and authenticate any of our school reports if required.
Renaissance has a long tradition and expertise in supporting students for whom English is an additional language. For those students requiring English as an Additional Language (EAL) support, our school has an established and dedicated English as an Additional Language (EAL) department and provides in-class and small group support.
Yes, a considerable benefit of an International, British based education is that it is transferrable. The structure and consistency of the National Curriculum and International Baccalaureate allows students to move easily between schools in various countries and facilitates an easy progression to a university in Europe, Asia, America or elsewhere in the world.
Yes, all students have to wear Renaissance uniform when they attend school. Uniforms are included in the tuition fees and at the start of each school year, each student is provided with a set of uniform.
We are a family sized school that places the student at the heart of the learning process, we have an experienced and well-qualified faculty recruited locally and internationally, we offer an excellent programme across the range of Early Years to Year 13, our facility is first class and our students graduate into outstanding universities and colleges around the world.
